Laure COLMARD

CO-Driector & Teacher

Laure was born into a family of dancers and has embraced dancing ever since she could walk. She started at the age of 3, learning a broad range of dance styles throughout her childhood.

She followed the path of dancing until she reached a gold medal in Ballet at the National Conservatory. Laure has graduated from the French National Dance Teacher Formation Center (CESMD - Poitiers) in Ballet at the age of 20. Where she received a strong training in pedagogy. Right after she graduated a Bachelor Degree in Performing Arts theory from the Paris University.

For the next 10 years, she competed in Ballroom Dancing competitions all over the world. Her achievements are the French Champion title, 8 times, and World Cup finalist in Ballroom dancing. At the same time, she was also in charge of the Ballet Department in two Ballet Conservatories near Paris, teaching regular ballet classes to children and teenagers.
“This period was one of the most intense in my life. I was away every single weekend to compete all around Europe and sometimes worldwide! But efforts have paid off, I’ve been very well rewarded!”

And as if that wasn't enough, she used her very rare spare time to teach ballet to young professional hip hop dancers at the worldwide prestigious "Juste Debout" Hip Hop School in Paris.

She retired from competition at the age of 30 and then moved to London, followed by Perth – Australia in 2014, where she has spread her teaching and knowledge to all levels, from young kids to competitors ever since.

"I'm very thrilled to offer my Savoir-faire to Ballet West Academy students from now on."
